We begin by carefully gathering information about your concerns, goals, and priorities. Through collaborative consultation, comprehensive assessment across all areas of concern, and thoughtful review of relevant records and data, we develop a clear understanding of your child’s strengths, areas of need, and the outcomes that matter most to your family.
Using our multidisciplinary expertise, we design a personalized plan tailored to your child and family. Services are thoughtfully selected and aligned to your goals, ensuring support is targeted, appropriate, and meaningful.
Services are delivered with intention, consistency, and care. Our team uses evidence-based practices while maintaining ongoing communication with families to ensure progress stays aligned with your child’s needs.
We continuously monitor progress and collaborate with families to adjust plans as children grow and goals evolve. Support doesn’t stop at sessions—we focus on carryover, communication, and long-term success.
At SHINE Education, speech and language therapy is grounded in evidence-based practice, educational expertise, and a deep understanding of how communication impacts learning, behavior, and social development. Our approach goes beyond isolated skill-building to support meaningful, functional communication that carries over into the classroom, home, and community.
We partner closely with families, school-based SLPs, and other providers to ensure therapy is individualized, purposeful, and aligned with each child’s broader educational goals. Progress is carefully monitored, and instruction is adjusted based on data and ongoing observation.
The frequency of therapy depends on your child’s needs, goals, and availability. Some children benefit from weekly sessions, while others may require more or less frequent support. Therapy plans are individualized and adjusted as progress is made.
During an evaluation, a licensed speech-language pathologist assesses your child’s communication skills using observation, standardized tools, and play-based or structured activities. Results are shared with families, along with recommendations and next steps if therapy is appropriate.
A child may benefit from speech therapy if they have trouble being understood, struggle to follow directions, have limited vocabulary, difficulty forming sentences, or challenges with social communication. If you have concerns about your child’s communication skills, an evaluation can help determine whether therapy is recommended.
Speech therapy supports children who have difficulty with communication. This may include challenges with speech sounds, language (understanding or expressing ideas), social communication, voice, or fluency (stuttering). Therapy is individualized to support each child’s specific needs and goals.
Early Start Special Instruction typically supports babies and toddlers from birth to approximately three years old. Services are tailored to each child’s developmental stage and individual needs.
Family involvement is an important part of speech therapy. Therapists often provide strategies, activities, or suggestions families can use at home to reinforce skills. Consistent practice and communication between families and therapists help support meaningful progress.

A child may benefit from occupational therapy if they have difficulty with regulation, attention, sensory sensitivities, motor coordination, handwriting, or daily routines such as dressing, feeding, or classroom participation. If you notice challenges that interfere with your child’s ability to engage fully at home or school, an evaluation can help determine whether occupational therapy is recommended.
Occupational therapy supports children in developing the skills needed for daily activities, learning, and participation. This may include sensory processing, emotional regulation, fine and gross motor skills, visual-motor integration, attention, and independence with self-care or school tasks. Therapy is individualized to address each child’s unique strengths and needs.

Social skills groups are small, structured group sessions designed to help children develop skills such as communication, cooperation, emotional regulation, and problem-solving. Groups are led by trained professionals and provide guided practice in a supportive, peer-based setting.
Children who have difficulty making or maintaining friendships, understanding social cues, managing emotions, or navigating group settings often benefit from social skills groups. These groups are commonly helpful for children with social communication challenges, ADHD, autism, or anxiety.
Skills may include initiating conversations, turn-taking, perspective-taking, flexible thinking, conflict resolution, and self-regulation. Instruction is explicit, modeled, and practiced through structured activities, role-play, and real-life scenarios.
